This song was written in Nebraska around 1996ish. The lyrics written and the vocals were sung by Rachel Scott. She is an excellent singer and as you will see in future posts, she is a much better lyricist than me (or is it I?). Anywho, her website is http://www.myspace.com/rachelscottmusic . She is the daughter of a pastor out of Nebraska and her lyrics reflect that great evangelical spirit.
When I say this is a rough recording, I am not kidding! I think we had JUST finished writing the song in the chapel of my church and we raced to my buddy's house who had a mixer, a keyboard, and a microphone and we laid it down as you here it now.
I remember us making crazy faces at each other because we really didn't know where we were and I was making up much of the accompaniment on the fly. Pretty funny stuff. This is classic sausage making in the music biz.
However, I think the song, itself, is a pretty good one, if I say so myself. A diamond in the rough, if you will. I hope you like it.
More classics later!!!
